A little tour of my room

Have you ever heard the catchy jingle "What does your room say about you?"?
I didn't think much of it until a couple days ago when I got my room looking all fabulous. My room really does reflect my personality. I also thought I should show you a little bit of where I chill. So, here we go!
Here's my desk! I don't sit at it a whole lot, I mostly use it to store textbooks and misc school supplies. I like to display stuff on it too. I love the chalkboard art piece that I purchased from Hobby Lobby. Another element I really like is the set of floating bookshelves.
My bed! The comforter is pretty basic right now, but it brings in all the colors from my room and it keeps me warm. I am currently working on a quilt for my bed though :) That stuffed turtle you see is Tillman Everheart Grimes. He was a gift from by best friend. He is  huge and fluffy and I love him. You will also notice a monkey and a otter. Otter came from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, he has been around for a while. Monkey was from Spirit West Coast. Softest. Monkey. Ever. All those photos on the wall behind my bed have been creatively named the "photo wall" and is made up of my favorite photos of people, and a few memorable sunset photos. That wall makes me really happy.
This is the little corner o' comfy. Yes, that is a stuffed Loch Ness Monster I made, and yes, it is wearing a skirt. My papasan chair is great for reading. I also made the curtains seen in this photo. The crocheted blanket came from the thrift store. Over Thanksgiving break my best friend helped me paint my dresser a beautiful shade of purple.
I'm not sure if you knew this, but these artist mannequins are a joy to play with. One holds my air plant and the other does different things on a way to day basis. It's fun to see how body positioning plays a role in how we perceive one's emotions. Also, you can see my shell from the previous tutorial on my window sill.
Okay, these Ikea expidit shelving units are so versatile and amazing, and they are inexpensive too. I recently purchased mine, and it has been great! Some squares holds rows of books, some are for display purposes, while others hold boxes of misc items. The canvas art was a Christmas gift from a couple years ago.
So I am a little obsessed with otters, so here we have my otter wall. It makes me happy. Otters are just so happy and playful and cute and furry and and and...
My family has had this white cabinet for a while, and it recently got passed to me, so I use it to display treasures from our travels. I made the umbrella ball and the melted crayon art. I think this corner needs a little more attention, but, hey!

Thanks for stopping by!
