My mom has been using this recipe for years. Every time she takes it anywhere someone asks for the recipe. She often makes it in cake form and bakes it in a bunt pan. It is a great dessert to take to large functions, and stores easily.
The flavor is immaculate. The chocolate is rich and the cake itself is light and moist. This cake is a staple in the dessert regimen in my house, and I can't wait to share it with you!
Ingredients:
1 yellow boxed cake mix
1 box instant pudding
1 cup milk chocolate chips
4 eggs
8oz sour cream
1/3 cup water
2/3 cup vegetable oil
2/3 cup white sugar
Procedure-
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mix the cake mix, pudding, eggs, water, oil, and sugar together.
Fold in the sugar and the chocolate chips
Bake!
For a bundt pan bake for around 55 minutes.
For cupcakes bake for around 30 minutes.
These cupcakes are not easily forgotten, believe me!
Postscript- I love using Ghiradelli chocolate chips. I prefer them to Nestle chocolate chips, and they are generally cheaper (I've checked at 5 different chain grocery stores). They are sweeter and softer, and have a less plasticity, manufactured taste than Nestle. The chips themselves are bigger and do not have that awkward powdery texture like Nestle. All around, Ghiradelli creates a superior chocolate chip.
