Peach Cobbler

My cousin from California dropped in this weekend to surprise us. Did she ever! My grandparents reactions were pretty priceless. We are having them over for dessert tonight before they drive out tomorrow morning, and I wanted to try this recipe I saw earlier this week for a dump cake style peach cobbler. I adapted it a tad to fit my budget and personal preferences.

Ingredients:

1 yellow boxed cake mix
1 jar Comstock peaches
1 jar Del Monte freestone peaches in HEAVY syrup
1/2 cup butter
Cinnamon

Procedure:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
Mix jars of peaches and ALL the syrup from the cans in the bottom of a 9"X13" pan

Sprinkle dry cake mix on top, being careful not to pat it down too much

Cut butter into pads (do this when the butter is right out of the fridge- it's easier to handle)
(Note the fabulous, Austinesque cutting board. It was very necessary to break it out)

Evenly distribute butter on top of the cake mix

Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste

Bake for 45 minutes
Note that the browner areas are caused by cinnamon, not excessive heat, although our electric oven can be finicky.
Serve with peace ice cream!
It has SO SO SO good! It's sweet, crispy, and warm. This took a very minimal amount of time and effort. My family raved and raved about it. I will definitely be making it again. It was described as "the best thing I've eaten all year"

Yep, success. Go make this recipe. I approve.
