First stop was Mount Bonnell, the highest point in Austin, TX, which overlooks the Colorado river and a slew of VERY nice houses. You can also see the most iconic bridge in Austin, Pennybacker Bridge.

Colorado River
View along the water
The Austin Skyline (note- It was overcast today, very little of that haze is smog)
I love this pretty purple flower, especially the way the color changes throughout
This little natural arch was bushed of the same type of purple flowers, and it made me happy :)
I really like these pictures. I'll probably use them for profile pictures for the various sites in which I frequent.
Next stop was Mayfield Park, only 5 miles away from Mount Bonnell. Mayfield Park is the estate of a woman who gave all she owned to the city of Austin. There is a cottage on the premise as well as koi ponds. It's main attribute, though, is it's peacock and peahen population.
Yeah, they just chill on the roof. How awesome is that!
LOOK AT THE MAGICALNESS!
The spectrum of colors amazes me
oh this is just a happy little squirrel I met
A tulip which was planted in the garden
A peacock powwow
Can we just discuss the magicalness of this bird? I mean, look at it!
I was probably 5 feet from it and one point when it displayed its plumage and it was beautiful to see the layers of feathers as they went up, one layer at a time.
It's so sparkly and iridescent!
Thanks for looking through my pictures!
Have a good day, and watch for random peacocks :)
