Easy fresh fruit cobbler

Last night I threw together this easy cobbler for my friends and family using fresh, seasonal fruit, and it was simply divine. The recipe couldn't be any easier and it tastes just scrumptious. This would be a great way to use up fruit that's about to go bad, as often happens with stone fruit in the summer. You probably have all the ingredients at home already!

Ingredients:
  • 4 cups sliced fruit (I used strawberries and peaches)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup white sugar (organic or otherwise)
  • 3/4 cup milk (I used fat free)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract
  • Drizzle of honey

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Melt butter in the bottom of a square dish (8x8 or 9x9 or maybe a deep pie dish if you'd like)
3. Mix flour, sugar, milk, baking powder, and almond together and pour over the butter
4. Slice fruit and place on top of batter, DON'T MIX
4. Add a drizzle of Honey

5. Bake for an hour or until golden.

6. Enjoy warm and maybe even a la mode!

This cobbler is sweet and ooey, and it would be the perfect addition to any meal!
