EASY All American cupcakes

Friends, the 4th of July is near. Barbeques, fireworks, flags, patriotic vibes, and, of course, outlandish dessert expectations.

You know what I'm talking about. You've seen the magazine covers while checking out with your hot dog buns and the videos circulating the internet. They're outlandish. Ridiculous. If you think for one solitary second that I am going to spend hours making patriotic after dinner mints with pop rock edges or frost a watermelon, you've got another thing coming. It's the country's birthday, and we all have more patriotic things to be doing, like swimming and lawn games.

Today I'd like to introduce you to my easy and speedy solution for a July 4th dessert everyone will love.

These All American cupcakes deserve their title because they're-

1. Red (well, kinda pink, to be honest), white, and blue!
2. Easiest dang thing you've done all week which provides will near-instant gratification
3. Chemical and calorie ridden-will probably kill you in high doses (as most things around here)
4. Entirely irresistible sweet berry flavor. What's not to love about double strawberry blueberry cupcakes?

Aright, ready for the recipe?

Yield:22-24 cupcakes

Go to your nearest grocery store chain and pick up:

• A strawberry boxed cake mix
• A 12oz can of strawberry fanta (or other brand of red carbonated beverage)
• A tub of white icing (I used cream cheese, you do whatever for lil heart desires)
• A medium sized package of blueberries

Now then:

1. Preheat that oven to 350
2. Rinse blueberries and leave them to dry
3. Mix boxed cake mix and 12 oz of soda. If you're like me and had to buy a big soda, measure out 1.5 cups
4. 
5. Bake for 12-15 minutes
6. Frost (I prefer to scoop icing into a bag, snip the corner, and pipe it, just because it creates a thick layer more quickly and cleanly)
7. Plop blueberries on
8. 

Boom. Now wasn't that easy? Take them to your celebration and share with your people while looking patriotic. You'll be complimented and give the appearance that they weren't the easiest thing next to grabbing a pack of cookies at the store with your hotdog buns.
