A fun little upcycled flower

As you will come to discover, upcyling is one of my passions. Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value. I enjoy this type of crafting because it pushes me to be more resourceful and more eco-friendly. It is typically less expensive and the finished product has a industrialesqe feel. Today's tutorial isn't mind blowingly difficult. I've seen versions of this on the interwebs, and I do not claim is as my own. (This means "Don't sue me")
On to the tutorial, shall we?
We are making these fun little guys

You will need a cheap plastic cup. Mine are a frosted white, made out of #6 plastic by DART. I obtained mine at our local Panera.

Now we will pinch the side to create a slit in the cup.
Tear it all the way down.
Now you are going to tear it all the way down again, about half an inch from the original slit.
Do this all the way around
Now comes the flowery part. Take one strip and curl it behind 2 strips to the left, and tuck it between the 2nd and 3rd strip to the left.
Go all the way around in the same fashion, until you have a completed flower.
For a different style, you can repeat the same steps, with the exception of only looping back around 1 strip, not 2, like so \/
And ends up looking like this
Don't they accent my inspiration board nicely? I got the pushpins for Christmas and I simply adore them.
Hope you enjoy!
