I had seen pictures on the Internet and figured it'd be pretty, but not that pretty.
I figured that the water couldn't be that clear and blue, and there wouldn't be that much greenery surrounding the area
Boy was a wrong. This place was so beautiful. I'm pretty sure Disney's Pixie hollow was inspired by this place. It was formed by the land above an underground lake and stream caving in.
The water is stunningly clear. Absolutely beautiful.
Water poured over the edge in multiple places.
Just a pretty tree along the river.
Due to all the wetness in the inside area of the lake various types of mosses and ferns grew.
The crater is so wide!
Panorama!
Look at how blue this water is!
The inside crater/rim part is pretty deep
Looking back out from the inside of the crater
My camera has a waterfall mode which uses a slow exposure to create a better image of the flowing water. I had forgotten about it until I arrived, and realized I needed a tripod. A little while later I met an older gentleman with a newer version of my camera and a tripod- He was capturing the Waterfall. He kindly allowed me to use his tripod and taught me new things about my camera. Thanks, who ever you are!
A shot from behind the waterfall.
I was just a little below the water source in this photo.
If you are EVER in central Texas this is a must see! The whole area is so clean and serene. I will be returning.
Thanks for looking through my pictures, and have a great day!
do people swim in the water? is it cold?
ReplyDeleteYes, people swim. The water was cold, but people were jumping in left and right. In the summer they have to limit the amount of people or else it would be wall to wall people.
