Photo Adventure: Baker Sanctuary

This morning I was invited to go hiking with my friend Jessica at the Texas Audubon Society's Baker Reserve. The reserve had an open house today so we enjoyed a nice 2 hour hike. Of course I took my camera along with me and snapped some great shots.

As you enter you are greeted by a cute little gardening house and a quaint windmill

Front view of the little shack.

Jessica being adorable on the front porch. I especially like the collage of gardening tools on the wall.

The path going in...

...and curving.

The path we took had little places where lots of wildflowers grew.

This plant is oh so very symmetrical.

The path went up and got pretty rocky in some places

The leaves are so delicate

Nature supplies pom poms!

The water droplets are quite delicate on this perfectly purple wildflower

Doesn't this look like the perfect setting for a movie?

I'm really digging the texture of this moss.

Lots of happy yellow flowers.

These teeeeeeny little succulents grow wild and are adorable!

It's just so cute!

I like the way the petals come from the back of the center part and not the front. (does that make sense)

A nice strait shot back down the path

Jessica and I at the turnaround point with the trail behind us

I had so much fun on our spontaneous hiking trip! The weather was perfect and we heard the songs and calls of many different birds. Such a fun day!
